You must have passed a practice HiSET prior to sitting for the official test (unless OK'd by Mrs. Nair.)
You can take our FREE practice HiSET any Monday or Wednesday (when school is in session) from 5:00-8:00PM at DC Adult Education located at WNC Douglas Campus, 16801 Bently Parkway (the building in the back), Minden, Nevada. Registration is on-site.
It will take two nights to complete the test. When you have passed the practice test, you will be given a packet of materials that need to be completed and brought in with your $75 testing fee to Mrs. Nair a week prior to the test day. (If you are struggling financially, ask Mrs. Nair for a fee waiver). Call DC Adult Education at

**PLEASE NOTE: If you are 16 or 17 years of age, you will need to get approval from our School Board to take the HiSET. Please ask our HiSET instructor for the form. Submit your request for permission to test at least 2 weeks prior to the test date.
If you don't pass the practice test initially, our HiSET instructor will put together an individualized course of study to help you pass the test. If you cannot attend our free preparation program, you may look into free online resources. Although the HiSET is not the GED, the GED study materials align themselves nicely with the new HiSET. Those study materials can be viewed at www.gedpractice.com; www.testprepreview.com or www.gedforfree.com.
